Amman, Nov. 4 (Petra) – The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development on Wednesday launched a project to digitize school curricula for 1-12 grades, provided on "Ajyal" (Generations) platform.
Part of the "Youth, Technology, and Jobs" project, this initiative aims to provide interactive digital educational content, enhance teaching and learning methods, and streamline access to educational materials for both students and teachers.
The project was announced during the inauguration of a computer lab at Irhaba Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls in Irbid Governorate.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Samira Zoubi, Secretary-General for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Dr. Sahar Shakhatreh, attended the event, alongside representatives from partner organizations and companies and the school’s administrative and teaching staff and students.
According to a ministry statement, the lab inauguration follows the school’s success in the public vote category of a "Minecraft" educational competition.
To reward this achievement, the school received a fully equipped computer lab featuring modern hardware, providing students with broader opportunities for learning and the development of their digital skills.
During the visit, Zoubi and Shakhatreh inspected the lab’s facilities, met with students and teachers, and listened to their feedback on the use of technology and digital learning tools.
Zoubi said the launch of the curriculum digitization project is part of the ongoing cooperation between the two ministries, aimed at advancing digital education and providing interactive educational content tailored to the needs of students and teachers.
She noted that these efforts complement development of digital skills curricula for 1-12 grades, helping to enhance students' competencies and better prepare them for the future.
Furthermore, she added that these initiatives represent a "practical" implementation of the ongoing directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
Through Crown Prince's close oversight of the National Council for the Future of Technology, she said His Royal Highness has "consistently prioritized" the development of digital infrastructure and improvement of internet services in schools across the Kingdom, particularly in the governorates.
In turn, Shakhatreh highlighted the teachers' vital role in the success of the digital transformation in education, underscoring the Ministry of Education’s commitment to empowering this group to "effectively" utilize technology and modern educational tools, which would enhance students' capabilities and foster their motivation for learning and creativity.
